The Children of Lemuel and Lucy Scott

Lemuel Scott and Lucy Ellen Ouderkirk had eight children. The first four were born in Dundas County and the second four were born here in Muskoka. It truly boggles my mind to think of Lucy making the arduous trip to Muskoka, to a great unknown, with four young children. I do not know exactly when the Scotts arrived at their Stephenson Township holding, but know from the birth of John in July of 1876 in Dundas County, and Frankie in July of 1879 in Stephenson Township, that the trip was made between those two births. John may have been a baby when Lucy made that trip. Or perhaps he was a toddler and she was pregnant with Frankie. How did she do it? What a resilient person she must have been.
